Orientación del estado para obtener su licencia  
El Departamento de Licencias ofrece orientaciones en español cuatro veces al año, en octubre, enero, abril y julio en el edificio del Dpto. de Licencias que esta localizado en el 1515 Clay St., en el centro de Oakland. La próximas orientaciónes serán Puede ser difícil encontrar estacionamiento en esta área, asi que le recomendamos que tome transporte público (el bus o BART). No se permiten niños. El Dpto. de Licencias cobra $25 por cada persona para asistir a la orientación. Solamente se aceptará el pago en forma de giro postal o cheque personal (con identificación) a nombre de California Department of Social Services. El pago no es reembolsable. Debe de registrarse y pagar con anticipación. Para registrarse, llame al Dpto. de Licencias al 622-2602. Si tiene preguntas o necesita más información, por favor llámenos.

BOOTIES CAMP: BABY BASICS  
This class, the first in a series of 5 classes for new and expecting parents, teaches the foundations of baby care. Topics include: bathing, breast feeding support, diapering and hygiene, baby-proofing your home, developmental issues, parental self-care, time management, mechanics of holding a baby, putting babies to sleep, and open question and answer time for specific concerns.


Babies are welcome to attend this workshop with parents.

CPR & FIRST AID TRAINING  
This 8-hour course in English, includes CPR and First Aid training information and costs $90. If you need the 15-hour course to meet child care licensing requirements, you must enroll for preventative health. Preventative health is a seven hour course that costs $50. The charge for all three classes (CPR, First Aid and preventative Health) is $120. You CANNOT register for these classes online. Pre-registration and payment is required. Call us for registration forms and information about classes in Chinese, Spanish and Vietnamese at 510-658-7353.

This class gives an introduction to child development and practical babysitting hints. Pre-teens are welcome but you must be 13 to be in our teen babysitting file.

TEACHING TODDLERS  
What does your toddler need to learn in order to be a successful preschooler or kindergartner? Meg Zweiback focuses on the basic skills young children need in order to be supported as they become more independent. The “how to” of waiting your turn, getting dressed or using good manners are just a few of the topics covered.

Limited child care is available for this workshop. The fee is $5 per child.

BOOTIES CAMP: BABY LANGUAGE AND BRAIN DEVELOPMENT  
This class is the second in a series of 5 classes for new and expecting parents. It covers the importance of reading, singing and talking to your baby, in order to build a shared communication. Additionally, it teaches how this communication effects the early stages of brain development in infants.

The Family Law Clinics sponsored by BANANAS and offered by the Volunteer Legal Services of the Alameda County Bar Association are held at our office. These clinics help low-income families with domestic matters. Reservations are required; call Volunteer Legal Services, 302-2222.

LIVING WITH THREES AND FOURS  
Meg Zweiback returns to BANANAS to address the questions and concerns of parents of three and four year olds. Learn how to encourage and preserve the spontaneity and curiosity of this delightful age group while teaching them to cooperate.

BOOTIES CAMP: YOGA WITH BABY  
Bring your baby to this yoga class specifically for new parents. It is the third class in a series of five. Parents will learn yoga techniques and poses that can be done with your baby positined on your body or by your side. Yoga mats are provided. EASE PREGNANCY ACHES AND PAINS  
This is a hands-on workshop where you will learn how to help your changing body feel better. Dr. Charlene Lohmueller will demonstrate stretching, exercises, and ergonomic techniques designed to help expectant mothers deal with the aches and pains that accompany pregnancy. Additionally, she will teach moms and their partners specific postures and stretches they can do during labor to make for a smoother labor and delivery. Dr. Lohmueller is a chiropractor in Rockridge and has helped hundreds of pregnant women throughout their pregnancies. Bring your partner and come and enjoy a morning of hands-on learning. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

HOW TO NURTURE CLOSE FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS  
Learn how to nurture close parent child relationships and encourage cooperation. This workshop, taught by Melina Bersamin, Ph.D., will discuss ideas and strategies for facilitating positive feelings and thoughts in your preschooler and supporting emotional regulation.

DIMINISH POST-PREGNANCY ACHES AND PAINS  
This is a hands-on workshop designed to help your post-pregnancy body feel better and adapt to the demands of being a new mom. Dr. Charlene Lohmueller will demonstrate stretching and strengthening techniques to help moms feel stronger. She will also teach proper ergonomics for holding and nursing baby. Dr. Lohmueller is a chiropractor in Rockridge and has helped hundreds of pregnant women throughout their pregnancies and beyond. Babies and partners are welcome.
